Description
THE JAIL: MISSION FIELD FOR CHURCHES is written by a pastor with a great deal of experience behind bars. He has not spent time as an inmate, of course. He has been a volunteer chaplain in a local jail for a number of years. In this book Adams tells why a pastor is needed for a jail ministry. Then he gives the fine points of how to carry on a jail ministry. He also includes a chapter on how to minister to others who have various relationships with a local jail: the officers, the inmates' families, and others. The jail is truly a mission field for churches. And Tom Adams has prepared this book to help you minister well in local jails.
TOM ADAMS is pastor of New Hope Baptist Church, Ambrose, Georgia. He is a native of Shreveport, Louisiana. He has been a missionary with the Southern Baptist Convention Home Mission Board. Adams is a graduate of Centenary College, Shreveport, Louisiana (B.S.), New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div., M.R.E., and G.S.R.E.), and Luther Rice Seminary (D.Min.). He has been the Jail Ministry Chairman of the Coffee County Ministerial Association since 1983. The Adamses have four children. - from Amzon
